The Briarwood Ceramics Committee is excited to kick off another year of ceramic projects for all grades! This program is sponsored 100% by the PTA.

Third grade's project will conclude this month! Part 2 (Project Glazing) will be on November 14th. You can sign up HERE to volunteer! No experience necessary!

There will be no school on November 11th in honor of Veterans Day! To all those who have served, thank you for your service!

There will be no school November 12th and 13th for parent teacher conferences! Look for an email from your student's teacher to sign up!

There will be a staff appreciation event on November 20th! The Briarwood PTA organizes staff appreciation events throughout the school year, so our teachers and staff know how much we love and appreciate what they do!

We hope you will consider helping us show the love to our amazing teachers and staff this month by contributing items for our November event: Apples and Arrangements!  The PTA will put together a caramel/chocolate apple "bar" and a Build Your Own Flower Arrangement station.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the importance of community and kindness. Once again this year, we are organizing a Thanksgiving dinner drive to support those in need. We are seeking donations of food, funds, or volunteer time to provide warm meals and a sense of belonging to those in our community who may be struggling. This is a great opportunity for Scouts, clubs, businesses, sports teams, or neighbors to work together to support a good cause. Schools and communities served include: Apollo, Briarwood, Maple Hills, Newcastle, Maywood, and Liberty. If you would like to donate or volunteer, you can do so HERE!

Our next popcorn Friday will November 21st! Popcorn Friday is one our most popular programs! It takes you to help keep this very loved program going! Volunteers are full for November! If you would like to volunteer for future dates, you can do that HERE!

In order to volunteer in ISD's schools, volunteers must complete a volunteer application and receive approval via email that their application has been approved. A new application must be submitted and approved each school year. If there is a chance you want to volunteer in any capacity, either with PTA or within the school itself, you must complete this process. You can access the volunteer application HERE.

Elementary schools should be a good balance of fun and learning.  The PTA works hard to bring both to our community when public funding falls short.  Briarwood Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all children at Briarwood Elementary School.

There is a gap in State and District funding for essential educational programs and classroom support for teachers. Briarwood students benefit from these extra programs that would not be possible without contributions from the Briarwood community. Donations to PTA fundraising activities help fund the following programs and events:

• Art Docent Program
• Clay Art Program - New this year!
• Music Program 
• Drama Club
• Books and supplemental materials for the library and classrooms
• Parent education events
• Guest speakers, authors, and artists
• 5th grade promotion events
